Finally finished my Gail/Nightsongs shawlette, made with a skein of Jade Sapphire Silk/Cashmere in colorway Everglades, a birthday gift from DF Mel. Here's a photo taken during the blocking process:
This was an extremely challenging pattern because the rows were not easily memorized (at least, not by me). The result was well worth the effort. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the subtle shading of the greens and blue-greens of the colorway.
Yesterday was one of those perfect Florida October days - the clear blue skies, low humidity...yard full of butterflies. I tried to capture the monarchs, fritillaries, sulfurs, etc. that frequent the purple & red porterweed and milkweed plants growing in my grass-less front yard were something to see! A few ruby-throated hummingbirds showed up to the party but my camera batteries were dead by then.
I have to end this post with a cat picture...Mr. Curtis Willis enjoying the late afternoon sunbeams:
He was a sleepy kitty.
Now off to knit; should I keep slogging thru the 600 stitches of a Just Enough Ruffles, or give into temptation & start a new sock project? Hmmmm...what would you do?
